چکیده

Effects of mid-dorsal caudate nucleus on sensorimotor changes were studied in rats. After electrolytic lesion of this area of brain there was impairment in sensory functions and decline in motor component was observed to be statistically significant.

Role of mid-dorsal caudate nucleus in maintenance of body weight in rats on administration of foods with different caloric densities.

Rats were fed with food of different caloric densities by addition of kaolin or groundnut oil to the normal food powder. The food intake, caloric intake and body weights were noted. These observations were compared before and after bilateral destruction of mid-dorsal caudate nucleus. The food intake before caudatal lesion varied appropriately with the caloric density of food thus maintaining ca...

Effect of mid-dorsal caudate nucleus on conditioning for pain stimulus in rats.

Male rats were subjected to conditioning, with light source as conditioned stimulus, followed by a noxious stimulus applied to the tail as unconditioned stimulus. There was development of conditioned response after a few days, which was inhibited later on.

Registration and analysis of bioelectric activity of sensory-motor cortex during the electrical stimulation of nucleus caudate in rats.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The caudate circuit takes part in cognitive control of motor activity. The purpose of the present work was registration and analysis of basic bioelectrical activity of ventral and dorsal sensory-motor cortex and nucleus caudate, study of the changes in EEG after nucleus caudate electrical stimulation and to identify of threshold level of electrical stimuli responsible for...

Microinjections of flupenthixol into the caudate-putamen but not the nucleus accumbens, amygdala or frontal cortex of rats produce intra-session declines in food-rewarded operant responding.

Results of recent studies suggest that dopamine (DA) transmission in the caudate-putamen may be involved in food reward-related learning. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate this hypothesis by injecting the DA antagonist cis-flupenthixol (25 micrograms in 0.5 microliters) into the dorsal caudate-putamen of rats (n = 19) trained to lever press for food presented according to a varia...

The effect of desmopressin infusion into dorsal raphe nucleus on pain modulation and morphine analgesia in rats tail flick reflex

Recent neuroanatomical and behavioral evidence has indicated that vasopressin (VA) increases pain threshold. The dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) is an important nucleus in pain modulation. Anatomical studies have shown that DRN receives vasopressinergic fibers originating in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus. The aim of the present study was to examine the effects of intra-DRN injection of de...
